This scale is handy for preparing food and coffee. I actually use it to weigh my coffee. When cooking, it really helps distribute the spices better and also gives me a better way to portion out my food. No more overeating or poor margins. You can zero overweight to get correct readings when needed. I would recommend using the trays as often as possible to make them easier to clean. If you put it on the scale, it will be much more difficult to clean. You can swap out the tray as needed (they come with two). One thing about the tray is that it does get a little cloudy after all the cleaning. I usually put my coffee in here because I get the best balanced taste when I weigh the coffee. You can also use this for light packaging (ticket sales). Plus it gives you a pretty accurate reading, which is great. It is battery operated and comes with the batteries needed to operate. How long this takes depends on the batteries you're using as far as I can tell. I usually opt for rechargeable batteries so I never had to throw batteries away, but chances are they don't drain too much battery power and can even last months before the batteries die. I checked the batteries that came with it and they were all fine, so that's a good sign. The scale can hold up to 6 pounds and can be converted to other measurements (kilograms or grams). The data is actually pretty accurate compared to what I compared at the doctor's office. This is good so you can see the progress over time. The weight is fairly accurate compared to many other scales. You get data accurate to a hundredth. The bottom has pretty good grip and for best results use it on a flat, hard surface and you don't have to worry about it slipping off. Do not use this on carpets as it will cause weight loss. Otherwise I'm happy with this scale. It is accurate and allows you to get a very accurate weight. For me, it really helps me to control the portions of what I eat, how much I invest in cooking, and the occasional packaging sellout. The only problem I have is that the tray gets a bit cloudy after constant cleaning.
