Review on PlayStation 3 Sharp Shooter with PlayStation Move by Andrew Kay

The PS3 Light Gun is more than just a gimmick

I recently bought a Playstation Move camera (later in the life of a PS3) and decided to give it a try as I she had a copy of Killzone 3. I got a new one (the one I had was a bit dented but all new ones are old stock these days) and it comes with 4 sticker sets: 2 for Killzone (one ISA and one Helghast ), one for the resistance and one for SOCOM. Killzone actually looks decent, but the other two just look childish. In any case, the weapon itself is of average quality, the first thing you will notice is that it is not very strong, it creaks and bends a little, what makes them cheap. An additional note here is that when the motion controller rumbles, all weapons rattle, and because it's not fixed it makes a horrible vibrating noise (fixed with foam tape). I looked at other third-party products before moving on to this official weapon, but other weapons seem to have poorer build quality than the official sniper in general. One thing that I think shines is the thought of button placement and motion controls. All in all, I don't think I would change anything about the placement. Well, as far as the actual use of weapons in the game goes, I can only speak for Killzone, but in my experience it will take some fiddling, to get it right. First you need to calibrate the weapon, which may take some time. It seems that the sensitivity changes slightly at the point where the crosshair appears on the screen, even if you're still dead with the controller. This makes it difficult to align the crosshairs. I ended up setting the sensitivity to 0, which gives vertical clarity, but even after playing with it for a while I couldn't get the horizontal right. I decided to live with him where he was and jumped into him. My first impression is that it actually works well, much better than I expected. It will take some time to get used to, but as you play for a while things will start to feel more natural. A complaint, What I've noticed is that the weight gets in the way of long gaming sessions. In my experience, I played about two and a half hours straight with minimal hand fatigue. To see how well the light gun works is sad to see that support has taken a back seat. The weapon compatibility list is also quite short. agrees with what I've seen, so look carefully).

Pros
  • Perfect for PlayStation Move compatible shooters
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
