So I grabbed an old (90's?) running cheap Craigslist Ryobi trimmer for the summer. Manual mode requires a 32:1 ratio, which is almost unavailable in a pre-measured bottle these days. I've read that modern two-stroke oils are so good that you can run 40:1 in an old Wacker and it'll be fine. But I don't feel like testing the theory under real conditions yet. Put this bottle of Lawn Boy 89932 in a gallon of non-ethanol gas and it just seems to buzz. Ordered Thursday, arrived Saturday. The yard really isn't that big, so it might be a while before I have to invest another full $3 in another bottle of 4z. I'm not sure who's going to bemoan the price of what's outdated anyway. Was glad to find him. If it stays at this price for a while, I'll be very satisfied. If the $25 ryobi sells well for the rest of the season, I might just buy a few bottles and settle in for a while. I personally don't feel the need to update or replace this thing until it's permanently gone. No need to impress anyone, just cut the grass.
