You probably think you don't need another ruler. But this one should be on your Christmas list. I've used this ruler so many times, especially when I needed to cut a quilt sandwich. I like the upper lip. If I need to turn my cutting mat over for a long time, this top edge gives you extra grip on the top of the mat to keep it in place. To be honest I wish shorter rulers had the same grip because apparently it gives you more leverage when positioning the ruler. I have used this ruler particularly when cutting pillowcases and trimming the edges. I hate step by step 'cause I never get a straight line. Now I know. It's just nice to be able to cut one long straight line at a time.
