So I have only used this item once so I cannot comment on the durability,but it does seem to be well built. I used it both with the battery hook-up and in the 12 volt hook-up and had no issues. I preset it to 51 psi and turned it on and it took about 3min. to raise it from 36lbs. up to 51lbs. Once it reached to 51.5 lbs. it shut-off automatically and showed a reading of 51lbs. I then double checked with a digital gauge and it showed 51.5. I would say that was close enough for me. Very happy so far. I purchased to go with us on our camping trips. Can't be too prepared.
