The limiting factor is the nut - it's really too thin and weak.
This works if you don't have fixed pivots then you end up having to remove the nut. Difficult to find a nut this size that is thicker and stronger (grade 5 or 8 will do). It worked on one of my pivots (a GM pillar on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee) but failed on another. I got a replacement from Revain and it broke again. I'm a mechanical engineer so I know a thing or two about what I do. Get a competitor's tool.
