MY GOD. HOW DID I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS PRODUCT A YEAR AGO?

I have been quilting for about 40 years. Mercifully, I started before the tailors! In the beginning, in addition to making plastic templates to cut out pieces of fabric for sewing, like my co-workers I also made all my quilts by hand, mostly using bars of soap to mark my designs. When the long arm machines came out, I remember longingly watching the demonstrations at the quilt shows. When quilters started using their home machines, I eagerly got started making a bunch of practice napkins. I quickly switched to cushions, table tops, wall panels and baby blankets. Not to be intimidated, I turned to quilting large quilts and am now machine quilting king size quilts on my 30 year old Bernina. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when I wanted to quilt cables on the outer edge with a hard quilt finish date. (I usually hand embroider everything on a typewriter). This required cables and none of my markers worked on border fabric. By the will of fate, I came across a video where this sketch was taken into account. Well, desperate at this point, I ordered it and was amazed at how well it worked. It left a thick, wide track that made quilting easier. I remember once using some kind of "powder" for my stencils, but it had to be reapplied very often as it rubbed off on the ceiling when touched. Not too much hand quilting, but that would have been a big problem for Ben as I struggled with the large quilt over my Bernina's 7 1/2 neck. the border. And unlike some of the wax markers I've had to use in the past, it peels off very easily. I am currently working on a handsewn quilt (first in decades) and had plans to make it by hand. Oh yeah! I will use my sketch when tagging this quilt!
