This is a revised review. I have mixed feelings about this purchase as there are pros and cons. I didn't listen to those who said they were fragile. While they do break when you slam them, I found that three of them didn't work for me with careful handling: one had a broken edge, one broke a handle in a dishwasher, and one leaked into the internal airspace. So 50% "failures" in the first 3 weeks of use. I think some people might mistake the pontile mark on the bottom for a bubble, but here a machine or person removes the blown glass tooling and then seals the outer shell. Additionally, some other double-walled jars are sealed with a bead of silicone sealant, making them unsafe for microwave use. On the other hand, they are microwaveable and the seal for the hole at the bottom is tight. That's why I say they're durable. Plus, the 16 ounce size is great for your tall double shot latte. For those who think they might be too big, remember that capacitance is measured to the brim. So if you leave 1/2 inch on top to avoid leakage, you will actually have less than 16 ounces. This fact makes 12 servings too small for a decent latte with a double shot of espresso. I find them perfect for Nespresso Vertuo pods and a few ounces of frothed milk.
