I shipped this to my son's apartment in NYC before my 2 week visit to care for his dog while he traveled. I worried about losing control of her on a regular leash and wanted a secure waist attachment. This was perfect! The waist band is solid, the two handles on the leash were great for keeping the dog at close or medium ranges, and the elastic provided just enough give for her to bound up the two flights of stairs to their apartment ahead of me. The attached pouch was just the right size for my phone, some cash, and a credit card, and my keys clipped nicely to a ring in the leash. The dog did pull me down one night when she darted after a rat on a dark street -- my skinned knees will heal, but the dog did not get away. I highly recommend this leash!
