The electronic part of this product failed in less than a week. We came home to a dog that was trapped in the house all day and had an accident in the house that we had to clean. Our dog was EXTREMELY stressed as he never had accidents in the house. I can't find a way to contact the manufacturer directly. I don't want to return it as I have to remove it from the door it is installed on. It still works like a regular dog door, but we already had a regular dog door that I liked better than this one. Don't waste money on this product. Also, in order for the electronic part to work, it must be permanently connected to a wire connector, which is inconvenient at best, especially if you're installing it in a door.
