Review on πŸ’‘ Efficient Dimmable Bi-Pin LED: 20W 25W Halogen Equivalent by Kevin Graham

Brighter than my old under cabinet halogen lights

I bought these to replace the 20w halogen bulbs that came with my kitchen under cabinet light. These are 3000K bulbs so they're a little less warm than standard 2300K bulbs, but I think it makes it easier to see the work area underneath, which I like. In my opinion they are also a bit brighter than the 20w halogen bulbs they replaced. LEDs are the same length and width as halogens (see picture). The only difference is that the glass on these particular halogens is wedged in about halfway to the bulb and the base of my headlights is also narrowed to accommodate them, which is good for stability. These LEDs do not taper downwards. It's just a silicone rubber cylinder. Luckily the pins on the connector were still long enough to make a good connection; Otherwise I would have to cut the silicone on each bulb (easily with a box cutter) to make them fit. I replaced the halogens in five lights with two incandescent bulbs each. Four looked great, but the fifth shimmered a bit. It turns out my lights have a low to high intensity switch, and I turn that particular light to low. This tells me that these tubes may have issues at low wattage, but luckily I didn't care because I like high settings a lot more. I would have reservations about using them in a dimmable fixture but for direct 120v applications they are amazing! I also want to reduce my energy consumption by 170W (200W halogen vs 30W LED) since I use these bulbs several hours a day.
