This adjustable organizer is wide enough for cutlery, as well as 2 additional compartments for serving spoons, ladles and turners and kitchen utensils. The only drawback are slotted knife blocks. One only has 5 knife slots, the other 6. My set is designed for 8, so I have 2 "orphaned" knives alongside the utensils. I don't use a 5 slot block. The ad shows a knife block with steak knives that have wider handles than table knives. If the slots were closer together, 8 cutlery knives could easily fit in a block with 6 slots. This is the only downside of this design. I don't think spicy foods should be mixed with table decorations. Otherwise, this organizer meets all other needs.
