looks great; doesn't work very well. Good for shrinking heat shrink tubing, possibly

Must be soldered, right? It works less and less well the more you use it. Looking good, you turn the knob and press the knobs and the digital display shows the temperature rising accordingly. What it does NOT do is get hot enough to melt the solder. I'm talking RC solder for soldering small connectors and motors onto small stranded copper like 26 ga. I don't know if I just got dirty, but I'm not a happy customer. I think the equivalent of 75 watts will easily do it. I was hoping I could make batteries out of it. The required amount of heat is not generated. It doesn't even solder the XT60 connector very well. I'll try 2mm connectors instead. I will buy a simple soldering iron. I think stations are better used for TV and radio; Trains and buses too.

Pros
  • Engineered for users - enhanced safety features including auto-off, sleep mode and built-in transformer. User-friendly features including intuitive heat control (knob design), clear ℃/°F display, brushed aluminum panel, calibration function, and detachable soldering iron handle.
Cons
  • A few little things
