Elastic cords are always handy; They have many uses. They feel durable and haven't shown any visible wear after almost a year of use at home and even outdoors like touring bikes and the like. They only get soiled with dirt and other dirt; We haven't tried cleaning them, but they can probably be hand washed in some kind of mild non-abrasive soap. Their hooks are pretty chunky and not the flimsy wire hooks you find on other bungee hooks, so you'll need to think ahead about where they will and won't fit. The hooks are coated in a thick plastic polymer so they won't scratch or otherwise damage what you're tying.
