One of my mother's dogs likes to bark at everything. This is a useful trait when someone is snooping around the house and doesn't belong, but not so well at any other time. She even barks at people she knows. Bark aside, she's the cutest, most cuddly little dog. This training collar will solve many problems. However, barking is the only area of concern she has had. There are 7 intensity levels with 3 different modes: beep, vibration and shock. We use level 1 and it's really effective. We also only used the vibration mode. I specifically chose this one because it didn't require using shock mode. The remote control is easy to use and has a range of up to 1000 feet. It can hold a charge for almost 20 days, and the receiver can hold a charge for just over a week. The fact that it's waterproof is a must. Of course we take it off when swimming, but when it gets wet it doesn't go bad. We had it for almost 3 months and after a month we stopped using it on her and she is still behaving. We have him in case we need him for another of our many family dogs or when we need to retrain. This is the best we've had so far.
