I bought an Opti-TekScope that comes with a stand. The stand is easy to assemble and easy to focus. The course setting is located on the vertical part of the stand and is mainly used to set the field of view. The fine focus is on the microscope itself. Both are very easy to use. The microscope has enough power so that I can solder the smallest electronic components onto a circuit board. I also used it to look at the $20 bill for fun and it shows a lot of detail. The LEDs at the end of the microscope are adjusted using a wheel in the housing to match the microscope's power cable. Mine stopped working at full brightness after playing with it for a few hours. I called Opti-Tek (their phone number is on the box) and they were very supportive. It's a pleasure to buy from a company that understands that product support is a valuable part of the product. We were able to resolve the issue without having to send it back and reorder. I recommend this microscope to anyone interested in a quality microscope at a reasonable price.
