A technician came to us and installed this fan and another more expensive one in the master bedroom. The expensive Home Depot fan was an "easy to install" model and took about half an hour to get to the ceiling, this one took three! The handyman groaned when he opened the box of this fan and saw how many parts were inside. It took him an extra hour to assemble the fan before he could install it on our ceiling and even more fumbling to get it working (not exactly). due to the fan's failure, the previous owners installed things in a very strange way). He said that it is very difficult and if possible it is better to get more expensive fans that are much easier to install. But the room looks fine. I didn't need anything fancy, it's just a guest room, I wanted an understated white color with working light, which is what I got. For this I had to buy new tie rods - the supplied ones are very heavy metal straps that hang at eye level and you can easily break the glasses if you step on them. Moral - you save a lot of money when you buy such a Chinese-made fan, and it will be delivered to your door in a few days, but its assembly and installation requires a lot of work!
