Originally I only intended to use the second set when sending my shuns for sharpening or entertaining guests. They have arrived and today I tested them in the kitchen. All I have to say is WOW. You feel RELIABLE. Comfortable and high quality. Complaints about the handle (that it's not made of wood) are beyond me. It has a thick coating like many high end knives (as well as Shun) to withstand years of washing etc. Nothing feels artificial to me. The blades are very sharp and precise. We have mastered it, my Shuns! A quarter of the price. I will get their full set, or maybe their ring line which is their top end now that I know this company is perfectly legit. *** updated after 18 months *** I used them every day. I went after every other use and sharpened every few weeks (everyday use). They are still as good as I bought them. Holds up great. Blade steel is not as hard as avoid (almost) but good enough with minimal maintenance. Super value buy.
