Failed to load media. For the price you get a decent quality carafe with a decent closure that is tight enough not to let out much smoke. However, if you turn the bottle upside down with the stopper tightly closed, some of the liquid will leak out. Thus the seal is not hermetic. The cork is not rubber or silicone, but hard food grade plastic. This may put some people off. The design and glasswork are simple and I love the solid elegance they create, but to be honest I know nothing about glasswork so don't take my word for elegance. The size is good for making incense cocktails at a party. I've used this to make something smoky old fashioned and it works great after a few swirls of the carafe. I probably wouldn't pour my $250 whiskey into this carafe due to the imperfect cork, but I can imagine pouring a mid-range bourbon or rye whiskey into the carafe. But hey, you can't beat this price.
