Five stars. Why? Launched with no errors. It read files which I tested after writing. I'm happy. But that's not all. What are good and bad optical media, how should we judge the quality? If you're recording 50 gigabytes of data and it's not Blu-Ray videos, chances are they're being used as archive storage. It is used in the way you want to access data many years from now. You can easily buy a USB flash drive or external hard drive, but they have a limited number of read/write cycles; This means that they "wear out". So if you're like me, you need something that will last for decades. This is closest. For now I'm giving it five stars, but what really matters is how this drive will perform in 10 years. I have many discs (data CDs and DVDs) that are over 10 years old and both still work perfectly. But I'm hesitant to give this particular product 5 stars because its criteria for 5 stars won't be known for many years (at least for my needs). Any optical media can burn with decent results if you don't take a stand, but how can all optical media stand the test of time? Not many people leave reviews to say their disc is still perfect after many years. But for me it is crucial whether a record is good or bad.
