High high high! for parts

Here's the thing. I've had my Magnum for years and when I first started modifying it the only thing I've ever "tolerated" was the fact that its tailgate wouldn't stay up in cool/cold weather. I think that was part of her charm. Or I was just in no hurry to buy new tailgate shock absorbers. Anyway, I'm fed up after several crib accidents involving my body and gate OR a few minor concussions from staying upright and then suddenly falling for no reason. So I gave in and ordered them. They cost a lot more than the price. The installation literally took time. I mean, it literally took four minutes. And that's because I checked my SMS in between. Raise the gate, remove the clips and old shock absorbers, put in new ones. That's all. My hands didn't even get dirty (which isn't fun, but still :).) Quality? Better than OEM by a mile. And I mean better than the NEW OEMs, not my graveyard ready ones that I removed. Very solid construction and not only do they hold my gate, they practically LIFT my gate. Considering how hard it is, I'm just amazed. When you open the gate, the shock absorbers do the rest of the work, pushing the gate up. WARNING THEY WORK EXTREMELY WELL SO YOU STILL WANT TO GUARD THE GATE OR ACT AS A BUFFER IN THE LAST SECOND BEFORE REACHING YOUR LIMIT. Otherwise, you can damage the hinges over time. The punches are so strong. Closing the trunk is still a breeze, and the dampers even keep the trunk centered. Overall I'm pissed I didn't do this sooner so don't be yourself. Be better than me. If you need new shock absorbers for your gates, get them now. Save yourself the headache. LITERALLY.
