I have tried using 6 inch "metal" pallet cutting blades. They worked much better as the length of the blade made it easier to cut medium boards and the combined metal and wood cutting teeth made it easier to start cutting. With metal blades, I had to pry the boards a bit to fit the blade in between. I just started cutting with them. I used a blade to cut 4 pallets that had lots of extra nails on each one, not the usual 2 or 3 nails. I then used the same blade to cut through a wooden fence with metal braces attached to metal posts. These blades cut through wood and staples with ease. Even cut the U-bolt 1/4 inch.
