Review on OXO Good Grips Small Salad and Herb Spinner by Joey Quade

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product! in Salad Servers & Spinners

As this is a "small" version, it doesn't hold much. Good for leafy greens, chopped veggies and fruit, and will make a few side dishes for a week (serves two) or a salad or two with meat (again, serves two). I love that the lid can be taken apart for cleaning and the brake works incredibly well. Greens can be stored right in the container in the refrigerator. The bowl itself is well made with a grippy texture at the bottom so it won't slide around the counter when spinning or across the table when served, and it looks great on the table too. The plastic is almost crystal clear and really looks almost like a beautiful glass salad bowl, with the versatility and durability of a plastic salad bowl. After about 3-5 uses, there was a creak when turning, but it lasted a few more times and then disappeared. I was able to figure out that this was due to the brake not releasing completely, but it resolved itself after the cover was removed for cleaning. Speaking of which, after watching a few YouTube videos I figured out how to take it apart (my box didn't come with instructions) and it was pretty easy. Once you found the instructions, most of the time was spent letting the parts air dry. However, it wasn't as much of a problem as with other products. I've done quite a bit of research on salad spinners and looked at many products in different price ranges. In the end, I'm glad I chose an OXO product as my first salad bowl. I have faith in the product, its honesty and the honesty of the company. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something that looks good and works just as well.
