Sangean make excellent radios and the radio part of this unit is of the usual high standard. An added bonus of the PR-D14 is a USB port that allows you to play MP3 and WMA music files downloaded onto a USB stick. This feature works well. I have a USB drive with 200 songs in several different folders. When USB is selected as the source, the radio will play tracks in sequence, folder by folder. (The first read after inserting a new flash drive is a bit slow, but then everything is fine). The radio also offers a USB shuffle function, which I haven't tried yet. The radio will display the folder containing the music file currently playing. I usually only use the USB function when the radio is plugged into a power outlet. So with USB selected as the source, I press the play button when I enter the room and press the same play/pause button when I leave the room - this ensures that songs from the USB stick play smoothly . Sound quality is what you'd expect from a single-speaker radio - it's good, but it's not super high-fidelity. My flash drive is filled with songs I heard on the radio 20-30 years ago and the Sangean beautifully reproduces that experience for a supposedly nostalgic result. I recommend this product.
