Revainrating 4 out of 5

Night vision has come a long way!

A long time ago I had a pair of monocular night vision goggles. They were large and required looking through a lens like a telescope. If you want to record what you see, you have to spend a significant amount of money to be able to do so. A decade later when my hunting and camping friend introduced me to this Gthunder. How things have changed! ADVANTAGES - LCD screen - Can save viewing photos and videos - Built-in infrared LED to illuminate dark areas (the part that helps with night vision) - Can be used during the day (by turning off infrared) - Limited battery life enough for days of the Hunting (requires 6 alkaline AA batteries and not included, although rechargeable can be used) - 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom (optical is ALWAYS better than digital) - view range up to 980' - slot for microSD card up to 32 GB (for storing videos and photos) - Images/videos can be transferred to a computer via a mini USB cable (included) - IP56 waterproof against high-pressure water jets, but only to a limited extent against dust Memory included CONS Photo and video capture only 1280 x 960p, but still not bad Chunky Optical zoom could be better NOTE To turn on the glasses, hold the power button te pressed for e 3 seconds I am deeply impressed by how far the work with night vision goggles has progressed. The ability to capture video and photos for less than $300 is excellent, and the 3x optical zoom helps you see your subject better. The large LCD screen is also a nice touch, so you don't always have to keep your eyes glued to the optical viewfinder (where you'll need to keep one eye closed for the best view).

Pros
  • Binoculars and night vision goggles
Cons
  • Very expensive
