We have a family member who had thoracic surgery as a child, and the scar placement diminishes the size of one of her breasts slightly (but not the shape). She was interested to see if one of these pads would balance the look a little bit, but found that it looks awkward and unnatural. She is not small-breasted, so the little pad looked very strange - the transition from her own to the pad was quite obvious, no matter how she positioned it (directly under, off to the side, etc.), and even under clothes it's obvious that It's got a tighter arc and more prominent protrusion.Not a solution for her. Might work if used for someone with very little breast tissue, used in a pair.
