update almost 4 months and only used twice, later: some absolute rubbish. My initial observations (below) were accurate: incredibly soft and cheap aluminum, poor tolerances, etc. The quick-release grip broke down trying to tighten it the SECOND time I used it. No, I did not use excessive force, tools, or any form of leverage. (The Rest) Bad: The materials are very cheap even for this price and the tolerances are tight. Even if the screws are only lightly tightened, the (very) soft aluminum leaves dents and dents. The tolerances for wrapping the thick wire around the top of the post are so tight that a weld was used on one side to bridge the material gap (compare the first two pictures). The reflector is mounted in such a way that it is almost impossible to install a light source in its place (see third and fourth pictures). This appears to be a safety measure that management insisted on and added to the design at the last minute, or it was a modest attempt to cover the end of the extruded main pipe. Anyway, it's no use to me if I can't turn on the light there. Welds present (see fifth photo). Some are good, most are very bad. Quality control seems to give an easy pass. Detachable hinges for carrying baskets are useless. You are too short. I don't have a tape measure around, but I suspect they extend 6 inches down from the screws, which isn't enough for normal fastening methods. So I can't use recycle bins with it. I think the best word to describe loops would be decorative. You can say cute but functional? no My kit was missing a bolt and nut. Finally, a small note: the fittings are basic, mostly just nuts and bolts. This adds unnecessary weight. They do include tools, and while you're likely to only need to set this up once, it's also pretty unsightly in an industry obsessed with looking clean. Pros: It's rare for a seat post and seat stays to become pinched. So if your bike doesn't have rack eyelets, you can use one. There are three mounting options for the uprights, ranging from the trunk to the seat stays. However, if you choose an option other than the middle one, you will need longer screws (not included).
