The old mirror has served me for many years. However, the problem I've had with all my mirrors in the past is that they come loose and I can't get them to stay in place. This mirror has all the screws in the right places so I can tighten the connections and make sure my mirror always stays where it should be. I like it! The velcro seems to be a bit stronger. It slipped once. I put it back on and squeezed much harder than the first time. I think it will hold up better this time. Velcro is a good idea, but if the adhesive isn't as strong as it needs to be, simply use velcro to remove the patch from the helmet. I'm not too concerned about that as there seems to be a problem with every mirror. Once that glue comes off I just take 3M mounting tape and use it like I did on my last helmet. That thing never wears out!
