They are good and do what I wanted, namely make it easier to close the rotary knob on three-way lamps. Saves me from searching for a pen in the dark and is easy to grab even when I have a lot of them in my hands. Some say they are the wrong size but I think they are just one size fits all. They don't tighten to the foundation and sway only a little, but they're not loose. If it weren't for that, I'd rate it a 5. I tried using the extension cords that came with it, but that didn't help. I kept them along with the old pens. how to know It feels like metal, the plating hasn't peeled off during use, there are no sharp ridges to catch your fingers on.
