Is it AC and not DC?

I believe this is an AC powered CDI box NOT DC as advertised. I ordered it as a replacement but decided to check it out because it was a lot smaller than my working DC CD box. As soon as I installed this CDI unit, my scooter would not start. I don't think it's a DC block as described.
