I had an old slide that was not used in a digital service and I didn't want to pay for it again. So I got this primarily to make a slide. One day I might want to restore more of the old slides or negatives so I think it's worth keeping as they've really gone up in price. Pros: Plugs into a USB port to view on a computer, which I like. The photo quality is good. Editing tools are available, but I liked the first shot. The slide holder worked well. A brush is included and works to clean the slide. Cons: What's the deal with the mini disk? This is completely useless for us Mac users and doesn't work on an external drive. I had to go to the website to download the program. I had a hard time opening the slide holder. It closes tightly, which is good since the slides don't move. But I was afraid that I would break it. Filmholder did not try. The slide holder was a little tricky to insert, but once I rotated it properly it was easier. I had to adapt it to the computer screen. Not difficult, just swing. All in all, it satisfied my need. One day I'll be looking for more slides and negatives that I couldn't afford to digitize professionally. Then I'll know better what it's like.
