Quality water is preserved. My only concern is that a small piece of the jug broke off and my cat ate it. His eyesight and sense of smell are slightly impaired and I think he has mild picacism so he developed nausea and vomiting and failed the barium study. An exploratory laparotomy was performed and a fragment of the Brita pitcher was removed. He has since recovered well and is no longer eligible for pet insurance. He and our Brita mugs are closely monitored. I'm giving 5 stars because I think and hope this doesn't happen often.
