AVOID PATHFINDER AND DOUBLE DIN INSTALLATION

This kit should cover single and double din installation options for aftermarket stereos. The kit is great with multiple mounting options for a single DIN and even has a nice gasket/pocket under the main unit, but for a double DIN it sucks. There is 1 trim ring that did not fit my Pioneer double din head unit or console (there was plenty of wiggle room at the top, a tight fit at the bottom and side to side interference) and NO double din mounting brackets are included. . I tried using it in Pathfinder 2007 but the end result looked terrible. It's a shame to buy a $600 NAV-based head unit, and a $15 mounting kit ruins the entire dash and console look. I removed the kit and found a better mounting option. FWIW, Metra expects you to use your factory mounting brackets for a dual din installation, HOWEVER these brackets will not properly fit most aftermarket head units. So you'll have to drill your own holes or play around with custom shim options or other mounting holes in the factory brackets until it fits. There is a better option and this kit is well rated for dual din standard installation in the 2005-2007 Nissan Pathfinder. sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438693232&sr=8-1&keywords=pathfinder+double+din Conclusion: If you have a Pathfinder 05-07 and want to install an aftermarket dual din head unit, USE SOMETHING ELSE. this kit is garbage. Metra should be ashamed to sell this kit as being remotely compatible for a double din installation.
