They are supposed to cover hoses but will catch dust and prevent them from closing
I bought six of these and they all won't close fully without a thorough cleaning. It's not worth it. I would have sent them all back if I had noticed this problem sooner. This largely explains the loss of suction I am experiencing with my 1200 CFM Rikon dust collector.
