Overall this dimmer was great. Has always worked perfectly. For the installation, I used a forstner bit to drill a hole in a piece of plywood the correct depth needed to thread the lock nut. So not the easiest install if you don't have the tools. The dimmer worked great until it pulled the covers off my bed and started generating static electricity. When I touched the dimmer because it's metal and conducts electricity, it shorted out the controller and lit up. I had to turn off the power at the main switch immediately to keep my van from catching fire. A plastic handle would have prevented this.
