Super easy to read in bright sunlight!

A few thoughts: The form factor drew me to this device and after a couple of weeks of use I absolutely love it. I set it up so that it hovers just above the stem. It's very easy to look down and see what's what. Just. One button to scroll through time, odo, trip distance, speed, average trip speed, max trip speed. I may have missed one and I'm pretty sure it's not in the right order. Hold to reset your trip data. Easily removed from the bracket. Too simple. I moved my reflector forward to protect the trigger lever. I tried using a replacement smartwatch screen protector but Cateye is plastic and my very hard screen protector wasn't working properly so I ended up removing it. A more flexible protective film works better. Because the quick-release lever is easy to grab, I accidentally dropped it in my driveway a couple of times. The good news is I didn't scratch him in the process! However, a little more scratch protection on the plastic surface seems sensible. White letters on a black background are an AWESOME thing. No LED shadows! Easy to read in any light. The included sensor and magnet attaches easily enough to require no adjustment after 30+ miles on and moderate off-road use. Developed for large handlebars. Before installing I had to wrap with electrical tape. It doesn't matter much in my book, but YMMV does. It hasn't moved at all since installation. - No on/off switch. The lock just turns off after a while when the bike is stationary. The current speed is always displayed (when the bike is in motion) and the mode button toggles through other data displayed on the 2nd line. - Entering wheel size and current time was a bit of a PIA, but the manual explains the process perfectly. It took me three attempts because I only skimmed the instructions at first. I haven't tried it, but apparently you can enter the old ODO mileage when changing the battery or switching from another bike computer. All in all, this is a great device that comes with everything you need. to need. I take good ergonomics instead of gimmicks all day

Pros
  • Functional and simple: very practical mode selection button; User-friendly menu screen for changing settings; A battery indicator shows when it's empty (after about 1 year or 6250 miles)
Cons
  • A bit crumpled
