So my friend's kid (next door) bought a Razor scooter/moped and I'm shocked at how low it costs. I thought I'd buy a flag or something to make it more visible. I saw this and great reviews so I decided to give it a try. It's currently plugged into a portable battery pack in my office and I've been playing with it for the last hour. I can't wait to install it (using a 24V to 12V buck converter I bought here for $12). But right now it's too much fun to play. I just got caught walking around the house with it pretending it was a lightsaber. It's surprisingly bright in daylight. The colors are bright. The 'mode's on the remote do some really cool stuff, patterns and colors. I don't know how many settings there are, but there should be over 100 different templates. The only complaint, literally, is that it's a pain to cycle through the modes to find the one you're looking for. But hey, I'd rather have it than a giant remote control with lots of buttons. If you're thinking of using it for a battery-powered car, my tests have shown that it ranges from 4W to 14W for most "modes" (at max brightness). The spot colors are used from 13W (R, G or B) to 28W (W). This is fairly efficient at 12v and shouldn't really affect the moped. All in all it's cool, you should buy it. It doesn't come with a solid mount, but it looks like a standard antenna thread. Depending on the application, there are a million options for less than $20 on Amazon.
