Review on Gigabyte AORUS WATERFORCE X 280 by Sean Sean ᠌

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The product is very low quality, not what you need at all.

The Cinebench test with this cooler (at maximum pump and fans) heats up the intel 12900F to 99ºC. Four of the eight P-nuclei have moments of all 100ºС (and it looks like it is higher). The surprise was that this is "normal behavior" and GigaByte themselves in the reviews begin to "swim" in terms of "synthetic test", etc. - They say in real life such loads do not happen. At the same time, in people with the usual "tower", the temperature of the nuclei does not exceed 87-90. Bought for micro-ATX ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-G GAMING WIFI and in fact the pump with taps can be installed in only one position out of 4, in the other three, L-shaped taps will rest against the motherboard radiators. As a result, when mounted on a side wall, the bend of the tubes puts pressure on the video card, if it is installed in the "nearest" slot to the CPU. There are two options: 1) Look for the shortest possible video card and 2) Take the risk of trying to mount the cooling unit "on the face", instead of a regular fan. Bottom line: disappointment in this dropsy. Not worth the money spent. : When using this CBO on my 12900, there was a problem: when trying to work with large videos, the process (transcoding or trim) hung / crashed / dumped the system into a blue memory. I did not attach much importance to this, but . as a result, having left this CBO for another vendor, this problem disappeared. I sin not the deformation of the CPU / MB under the water block of this CBO.

Pros
  • This model has no particular advantages.
Cons
  • Weak cooling. Rigid tubes. Difficulty mounting in certain cases/motherboards
