Review on 🔐 Kwikset Ashfield Single Cylinder Handleset with Ashfield Lever, SmartKey - Venetian Bronze Finish: Model 98001-098 by Matthew Riley

I used this product to replace a front door handset that fell out of a friend's door. It was installed by us homeowners when we bought a new door in 2009. Unfortunately we had no documentation to prove purchase or a lifetime warranty. I love the product and the look and it goes perfectly with our old phone. .The installation was a challenge though. All the instructions are in graphical format with very little text so some key information was left out which made it a bit mysterious and took more time because we just had to figure out the missing manual. Btw, my husband is a mechanic and I have 2 Bachelor of Science degrees so we are no fools. A very small screw was our biggest problem. There was a tiny bolt on the lever set that holds the lever to the mechanism. The instructions state that to install the lever mechanism you need to loosen the screw. It was very difficult to uninstall and impossible to reinstall - the very last step in the whole process. Luckily we found the right latch in our huge stock of screws and bolts and the front door is working again. And now a glass of wine.
