Great first impression but not perfect for great value for money

This is a first review of the product as I have not yet installed it on my jeep so cannot confirm durability when driving off road . must be well constructed in sturdy metal cases that appear to be well sealed. The total length of each lighting harness (end to end) is approximately 9.5 feet. This is the total length from the battery connection point to the light. The on/off cord is about eight feet long. Connecting the light is easy and silly. There's literally no way to screw it up. Red to plus, black to ground, and it doesn't matter which lamp is connected to which controller port. Simply plug the harnesses into the connector, then turn the round locking knob for each harness to ensure a secure connection. That's all. There are two ways to control the brightness and color scheme of this light source: (1) Use the included remote control (you need to buy a CR2025 battery for the remote control as it is not included). (2) Use the Blue Tooth function via a smart device (you need to download the app on your phone). The manufacturer has made this task easy for you by providing a guide that shows you how to scan the QR code on the controller. Once you scan this code you will be redirected to the download page on your device and you can download from there. super easy. I had no trouble connecting my iPhone XS Max to lights via the app, but personally I prefer using the remote control. It is important to note that if you choose to use the Blue Tooth app, you must grant the app access permission. your iTunes media. This is one of those apps developed in China. So if privacy is an issue, you can stick with the remote, but I think the app gives you a little more options for colored lights. I haven't had much time to use the app yet, so I can't comment much on it yet. It's also important to note that whichever option you choose, Extraction or Bluetooth, you need to make sure the power switch is set to ON, otherwise none of the options will work. Sounds obvious, but based on some reviews I've read from people who may have issues with the tech, I thought it was worth mentioning. Okay, as for the lights themselves, it looks like there are actually two sets of lights in each light. The outer ring of light itself maintains color and the brightness can be controlled with a remote control or Bluetooth app. The center lights within the outer ring are white only and cannot change color, nor can they be adjusted to increase or decrease brightness. The good news is that you can use the remote control to decide whether you want only the colored lights to come on, only the white ones, or both. I'm still playing with the bluetooth app and at the time of writing I could only get the bluetooth app to control the colored lights. It looks like the app can't control the white lights at all, including turning them on and off. This may be operator error, there is no guide on how to use the app, so I'm learning as I go. I'm really impressed with how bright these lights are, brighter than I thought they were only 18 watts. . Both the remote control and the app allow you to adjust the brightness of the outer ring (colored lights). Oh, and while I'll continue to refer to the outer ring as colored lights, they can also illuminate white light. The light design could have been better, and if you swear at all when installing these lights, it's the way the lights are attached. to the fires. The mounts are designed to slide into the body of the flashlight and there isn't much room to insert tools to tighten them. You probably don't have a wrench small enough to hold the lock nut in place. Lock washers for the screws that attach the bracket to the lantern are also not supplied. Here's what I did: 1. Went to Home Depot and bought 4 quarter inch lock washers for 19 cents each (two lock washers for each headlight). If you are planning to install these lights on a vehicle spend eighty cents and buy lock washers otherwise you will have to keep tightening the bolts as they loosen due to shock, vibration etc. Using small needle nose pliers, place the lock washers on the screws. Repeat to install the nuts onto the studs.3. Stuck a flathead screwdriver between the lantern body and nut to keep the nut from turning when I tighten the bolt with a hex wrench. Using needle nose pliers and a flathead screwdriver, with patience and care, installation took about ten minutes without scratching. housing or break off the cooling fins. One final note on app installation, after scanning the QR code and downloading the app, there are about 7 different options to choose from within the app. The only one that seems to work for this lighting set is LED DMX. I've tried others (LED BLE, LED SMART, LED STRIP, etc.) and the lights didn't respond to them. The one page manual that came with the lights also tells you how to use the LED DMX. So save yourself time and confusion and simply choose the LED DMX option. Once I have them installed on my truck (today) and have some off-road time I will update my review. So all in all I'm satisfied. These lights are durable, bright, the remote control is easy to use and works well. The app could be better (or they could provide instructions for it) but for the price I'm more than happy with it.
