I recently bought this switch because I work from home and my work computer is just for work. So I have to use the second computer for everything else. Having two keyboards on my desk caused me to stretch my arms between them and I developed neurological symptoms in my hands. When I finally realized that I decided to buy a switch. I use this switch to connect a wired keyboard to a Windows 10 computer and an old Windows 8 ThinkPad laptop I got from work. Both machines recognize keystrokes. I also connect a second keyboard for use with a different language and they both work fine. This is the second device I use. The first was cheaper but after 2 weeks it started producing "noise" characters on the PC and I had to unplug the switch and send the unit back. Pressing the button toggles computers or uses hotkeys. The hotkey function only works when the keyboard and mouse are connected! I only connect a keyboard and use 2 mice, so the hotkeys are not active. But first I tried the hotkey and was disappointed because it didn't work until I read the instructions in the little 2 page guide. Go to point 2 on the last page and try the combinations listed there to find the right combination for your keyboard.
