I've been riding these tires in western Alaska for 2.5 months. The main use is commuting to/from work. In the past month, the road has turned to ice. No problem, and the tires easily handle corners and icy ridges in the road. Last weekend I rode the River Ice Road, never slipped. Deep snow on the track is a test, and tires won't help you here. As others have recommended, I installed the spikes after driving 25+ miles on the road/sidewalk before snow and ice hit. I have NOT lost a single bolt and my starting and stopping is better than many cars I see on the road. 5+ stars, worth the money for safe winter cycling.
