Review on 🐴 CleanTrax Equine Hoof Cleanser by Equinetec by Dylan Deng

Is working. Difficult to use. You need a high boot and a lot of time.

Purchased to treat white line disease in horses. This interesting chemical is FDA approved for use in human bladder lavage. It is also used to treat bedsores (bedsores). It is marketed as an unauthorized veterinary medicinal product and as such is sold direct to consumers. A small container is mixed with a gallon of tap water and the liquid is used in a tall soaker boot also sold by CleanTrax. The tall boot is designed to create a column of liquid with enough pressure to "drive" the compound into the infected hoof. The boot is soaked for 45 minutes and then the hoof is sealed in a plastic bag for another 45 minutes to trap the antimicrobial gas generated in the hoof. This gas kills both bacteria and fungi. That hour and a half is an eternity for most horses to remain calm and still. Thank goodness the product instructions only recommend a one-off treatment. However, my vet recommended 5 treatments, one every other day. Unfortunately, bathing boots do not fit this regime. I had to buy a new boot for every swim, making it a fairly expensive treatment for white line disease. However, it seems to be effective. I didn't see any effect from the chemical on the rest of the leg and the bay hairs didn't fade. After mixing the chemical with water, the mixture is said to work for three hours, so theoretically the same mixture can be applied to all 4 hooves by soaking them individually. Of course, your horse has to stand patiently for three hours. It is a chemical based on the reaction of chlorine. I have found that my other horses seem to enjoy licking up the discarded or spilled solution and the treated horse licks his leg while it is still wet. It's probably best to flush it out of the hose to prevent this from happening.
