Review on DEKO 400W 1/2HP 1981GPH Submersible Sump Pump W/Float Switch & 16Ft Cable by Monty Barganier

This pump does exactly what it is supposed to do, but mine only worked twice before it started tripping GFIs. I use this pump inside a rain barrel that is fed by a rear hose gutter. It pumps through 1.5inch PVC and a heavy duty Gorilla pool discharge hose. Quite a nifty setup, if you ask me. In any case, the GFI the pump was plugged into started tripping during the second rain. Changed the existing GFI to a new 20A unit, problem persisted. Switched to GFI on different circuit, but problem persisted. Friend recommended switching GFI with non-GFI outlet, which would make it throw breaker at box, but that isn't code here, so I am returning it.I will say that Best Buy makes it incredibly easy to return items for replacement or refund. So, I am replacing this pump with a new version of same. If that doesn't work, I will get a refund. Will update the review when I see what happens with the new unit.
