Review on L4S Ultra Thin Powered Adjustable Tracing by Ashley Taylor

Great quality, great price!

Love this lightweight pillow! I spent probably a week on this and read a lot of reviews before finally deciding on this and I'm so happy with it! I use it to practice lettering and some prep sketches for pictures and it's done such a good job so far. Pros: Super thin, flat surface. Doesn't hurt your hand when working at an angle or elevated above the table. The brightness control is amazing! Once you turn it on, pressing and holding the power icon (not the button) will gradually dim the light level. Lift your finger from the icon and hold it again to increase the brightness. When you turn off the device, it remembers the settings you had last time and uses the default setting the next time you turn it on. The surface of the light tablet causes my drawing pad paper to stick to it so it doesn't move much. in general it is beautiful. I just have to worry about keeping the tracing paper or whatever up where it belongs. I'm starting work on a piece that will be done on watercolor paper (see photo) and using a light tablet I can see my original lettering perfectly through the 140lb watercolor paper. In the photo, the original inscriptions are only in pencil. If I had drawn it it would have been easier to see. I'm sure I could see if the watercolor paper was slightly stained. I will have to test darker colors. There's no "dot grid" like some other light pads I've seen, just a smooth, flat white surface. I used this lightweight pad for about three hours in one session and had no problem with it hurting my eyes. Cons: It needs to be plugged into a power source all the time, but the cord is long enough and I have an extension cord, so it's not a problem for me. Make sure you have a power adapter (e.g. a cube from a smartphone charger) as it is not included. The light mat itself is made of hard acrylic and doesn't feel cheap but bends easily, so I use a drawing board underneath when I'm not at my desk to keep it from deforming. Also, I think this light mat is really a lot for the price. I'm wary of the power supply as some other users have reported problems, but I think it will be fine. If you plan on everyday use, I'd say this is definitely a good choice!
