Review on Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 205/55 R16 91H summer by Wiktor Sakowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

It is not clear why here on the market this rubber is only in the dimensions of 14 and 15 inches? I have 205/55R16 (91V). Car - Honda civic 4D, AT, 140 HP. Drove about 300 km. Conclusion - tires for connoisseurs of comfort. For those who like to drive, it is also perfect, as it has excellent braking properties, stability, and keeps the car cool. BUT! You can drive only on good roads, on bad roads, most likely, if you hit a hole or hit an obstacle at speed, the tire will end, it is very soft! As soon as I have more experience with its strength, I will unsubscribe.

Pros
  • 1. Quiet. 2. VERY soft and VERY comfortable. The technology of the moving sidewall, it is crushed when driving bumps, cushioning them (look at the Conti website). Tram tracks, joints, expansion joints, speed bumps are passed as if they are not there, even on a rather stiff suspension (Civic 4D). 3. Superbly holds the road in the rain and dry, while the new one, what will happen next - I don’t know, I travel a lot and on different roads. Then I'll write more! 4. Practically do not change behavior at low temperatures. I went to +2, everything was ok.
Cons
  • There is only one drawback so far - a very soft sidewall. When I drove to change winter for summer, I had the opportunity to compare it with the regular Bridgestone Turanza ER300 that was standing last summer. So on the Bridge it is very difficult to bend the side of the tire, on the Conti it easily bends with a finger. I don’t know yet how the rubber will behave on impacts, hitting sharp objects, but something I don’t have a very good feeling about! The bridge snatched such blows that year, I thought the wheel would be torn off along with the suspension, but at least he didn’t have a single hernia! When I was driving to change the Bridge for the winter, they took out a few screws from each tire, drove it and did not even know about it. I think this will not work with this Continental, but I will keep you informed!
