So you don't want to toss this thing in a tool box or drawer. The body is made of plastic. But. I emptied my truck's crankcase with hot oil in about 7 minutes. I was hesitant to buy one of these due to the bad reviews, but once it worked it would be cheaper than an oil change all things considered, labor, waiting at the shop, the shop's oil surcharge, the cost of gas for a trip to the shop and back, etc .And I did it alone. After about 30 minutes, including the first assembly. Here are the steps I followed: 1. Carefully separate the terminal wires so both terminals reach the battery terminals. 2. Attach the outlet pipe and tighten the hose clamp. I had to use the socket on the screw.3. I filled the pump with 3 in 1.4 oil from the suction side. Install the inlet pipe and tighten the clamp.5. Connect the clamps to the battery, making sure the red is connected to positive and the black is connected to ground. I inserted the inlet tube into the probe tube.7. The outlet pipe went into the container. The hoses are transparent and very flexible.8. Flicked the switch.9. I had to push the intake tube further into the crankcase, but I saw the oil start to flow. The pump seized slightly as oil entered the pumping chamber, but continued to operate with no problems.10. When I was done I wiped the tubes down with a rag and put screws in the ends to seal them so they wouldn't leak. I assume the next oil change will be earlier so my truck will be a lot happier. By the way, it has over 500,000 km on it. Guess what brand it is?
