Review on ๐Ÿ  XP Aqua Sumpless ATO - Comprehensive Auto-Top-Off System for Sumpless Aquariums by Linda Salinas

Causes new problems and requires modifications

This dead end ATO ignores KISS and suffers. The overflow is too high for my 40B seawater LPS tank. It doesn't give you a directional nozzle or the ability to add one yourself. I really didn't need the extra power, which I can't control with my ATO. This thing is for small tanks that don't have sumps, it's ridiculous how much flow. I just needed protection from snails and such. There are a few pros I will talk about, but mostly cons. Most pros only come into play after modifications. However, ATO itself works, apart from overflow, and I could only use it independently. This will be an expensive ATO, if it happens I'll update. All the disadvantages are related to the overflow and ultimately depend on it, since ATO does not have a drain hole. Pros: If you plug the giant hole in the back, throw away the giant block of rubber they claim is the carrier, and use your own carrier, you have a decent oversized surface skimmer. - ATO works as advertised. Cons: Ridiculously powerful head that I can't adjust. Seriously, don't add this to 40g or less unless you're working with SPS coral and you don't care. - You have to change it to make it work. - There is a huge hole on the back that needs to be sealed. or overflow just pulls on it.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Some problems
