Review on TERA PUMP Electric Fish Tank Water Pump: Submersible Pump with Hose & Filter Suction Tube by Jamie Brown

Easy water change

just used it for the first time and was impressed - i only have a 40 gallon tank and it drained the water in a flash for my weekly change. If you have a large tank you will scold yourself for not buying one sooner and it will be difficult to use at less than 30g as it will deplete it before you can turn it off. My fish didn't seem to hatch at all, in fact my little angelfish was very curious and "everything on the grill" so I had to keep chasing him away. My only suggestion for improvement would be if the pump itself was weighted, I had to hold the pump in place with one hand and when I first turned it on the drain end flew out of my bucket and soaked the kitchen floor - not a big deal as it needed to be wiped down anyway, but complaining about the pump would have helped. I am very happy with my purchase and may consider upgrading to a larger pool as the water can be changed easily. hp I didn't use the metal clips that came with it as I didn't find it necessary. One more PS This pump is NOT a gravel vacuum and is not advertised as such - it is exactly what the description says, a water pump that moves water from your tank and returns it too (hallelujah). Make sure you understand what you are buying. I have a planted tank and also use a liquid gravel cleaner that breaks down silt and sludge, so I don't vacuum the bottom of my tank often, but do weekly water changes of about 30%.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • don't remember but there was something
