For the price I think this is a great winch. I bought it to get the Roll-A-Dock out of the lake and up a steep hill. It worked perfectly. My wife operates the winch and I can keep the boat on the dock. I love the fact that the winch hanger has an on and off button. We'll also be using the winch to set up the dock, so the exit button will be very useful. I used to have a 12 volt winch. 120 volts is much more convenient. The 12 volts also had a handle that had to be used to unplug the cord. Just lugging a load. My only recommendation is to buy a pair of thick leather gloves to guide the cable. Since there is no guide to move the cable back and forth as it runs over the drum, this works well with a leather-gloved hand and allows the cable to wrap around the drum more evenly. I would buy this winch again.
